NCC Officers Training Academy (OTA), Kamptee , was established on 01 Mar 1957 and was formally inaugurated on 06 May 1957 by the Dy Def Minister Sardar Surijit Majithia . A Girl's wing for Pre-commission training for lady officers was added to the school in Aug 1959 but was later shifted to Gwalior in Apr 1965, and is now known as OTA Gwalior . The NCC Academy at Purandhar , which was established in Sep 1961, was closed down on 31 Mar 1979 and merged with this academy.

Role

The role of the school is to impart :-

(a) Pre-commission training to teaching staff drawn from various colleges and schools for commissioning them as ANOs.
(b) Refresher training to ANOs so as to enhance their proficiency.
(c) Re-Orientation training for JCOs and NCOs posted to NCC Units.

Organization

NCC OTA Kamptee is commanded by an offr of the rank of Brig. A team of 16 Army offrs, 12 JCOs and 45 NCO instructors make up the instr staff.



General

In order to inculcate the basic foundations of character, morality and discipline in the youth of the country, the School endeavours to cope with the aforesaid by designing the training curriculum in tune with the aims of the NCC.

a) PRCN/SD ( Senior Division )

Aim: To impart basic military training to Officer Cadets from Colleges, so as to enable them to function as ANOs in Senior Div NCC.

Aim: To impart basic military training to selected Direct Commissioned Officer trainees of SD/JD of NCC to enable them to plan and supervise training in NCC Units as commissioned officers.
